Any thoughts on Gavin Floyd

I read that he will start the season in the Phillies rotation. Any thoughts on him? I see that he has a terrific K/9 rate.

How long is Padilla going to be out? I can't see him starting much longer then the duration of that injury. He's young and he has some good stuff but he doesn't have a Major Leaguee maturity yet. I believe he's had some struggles this spring too.

His stuff is dynamite. I could see him taking Brett Myeres spot if Myers faulters early on. I can also see Padilla, Wolf missing some starts, so Floyd should have a chance to show what he's made of and force the Phils to make a decision.

I am pretty sure Flyod is definately making Padillas first 2 starts this year. From there is depends on how quickly Padilla is ready to return. At worst Floyd will be used as the number 1 option in middle relief, unitl some one else gets hurt & with Padilla, Wolf & Leiber that shouldnt take to long.

He should have both SP & RP eligibilty by May as well.
