Call me old fashioned but I just massage the glove with my hands, throw a ball in it while watching the tube, and just use it.

Agreed. Could've re-named it: Is Working in a Glove Better Than Working in a Cubicle?

B-)

Most stiff gloves I've had over the years I kept under the mattress at night and used as much as possible in the day. Nothing better for a new glove than a few sessions of hard catch (find a buddy who can really bring the heat). That's what really softens up the leather.

shaving cream is a good softener. don't use oil, it just soaks in one spot and adds weight.

hiring shawon dunston to play catch could help. he's cheaper than furcal right now.

i do the glove oil right on the glove spread around with my hands, majority done in the palm of the glove then just beat the sh*t outta it with a ball when ever i have time and when ever im not going to be home or at night put a softball in it and stick it under my mattress

Same method I use...but occasionally I will add the shaving cream to it...it does speed the process a little... :-)

I always just rub a little oil on the glove, throw a baseball in the glove and ty a rubber band around it so it's tight.....
