Best way:
1) Fill up your sink or a bucket & completely submerge glove in room temperature water for approximately 3-5 minutes.
2) Put a baseball deep in the pocket & try to stretch glove around a baseball forming a pocket.
3) Tie up glove tightly, forming the pocket around the ball using a belt or string fingers facing up, to help the water drain.
4) Keep tied up & let glove dry naturally out in the sun or in the attic a couple days or in any warm part of the house. Do not place on any HOT surface.
5) Untie & throw in the clothes dryer (even if still wet) on hot for 15-20 minutes. This will help "beat up the leather."
6) Remove from dryer & start working it in. The more time you spend bending down on the fingers & forming the pocket the better the end result. Once completely broken in I prefer an occasional application of inexpensive shaving cream (just the white foam kind with lanolin and no fragrance) when glove gets a little dry.

Old Fashioned rubber band and matress. I slept on my glove (ball in tact) for a week or so and that helpped a lot.

I am playing baseball for the first time in 7 years this year, so I didnt have a glove (thats a crime, I know :-D ). I had to buy one, but there was only a day till practices started, so I bought a Nike "field-ready" glove. These gloves come almost fully broken-in. All I had to do was play catch a few times and it was like I'd had the glove my whole life. If you want the traditional experience of breaking in your own glove and making it your own, I dont suggest this type of glove. But if you're in a bind, or just plain lazy, the "field-ready" gloves are pretty cool

You're just a regular Princess-and-the=Pea aren't ya? :-D

Usually I just stick a ball in the pocket, tie it up with some twine, and let it sit for a week or so. I've heard of people driving over a new glove with their car but that seems pretty stupid to me.

I've done the bed thing before as well...of course, I don't know how well it worked because it was a smaller baseball glove I played softball with, but I read about it on the Internet and it seemed logical.

Thats how I always do it, and it works everytime. Just tie it up tightly with some rubber bands, sleep on it, and play catch. ;-D

I once tried a fancier technique that involved a microwave. :-t
Lets just say I was never able to use the glove.

put a ball in it, and run it over with your car.

Bury it no farther then 7 and 2/5 feet into the ground (and no shallower then 6 and 9/10) and wait 45 months. The dig it out.

It may not work....

I'm just curious what would happen.
