Brad Penny took another step forward, throwing 30 pitches to Dodger pitchers with bats in their hands.
Manager Jim Tracy said there's still a chance Penny could pitch in a Grapefruit League game before the Dodgers break camp Thursday.

Brad Penny, returning from a biceps nerve problem, threw 46 pitches in a simulated game today.
''His velocity is right there. The power in his arm, perfect,'' said third baseman Jose Valentin after facing him. Penny is expected to throw another simulated game on Friday before making his exhibition debut next week. He's going to open the season on the disabled list, but he ready to join the rotation in mid-April.
