I had the #1 spot last year and held onto it, thinking that someone in my league would drop a valuable player and I'd be there to scoop him up. Too bad it never happened.
So now I find myself in the exact same spot and Kevin Brown has just been dropped in my 10-team H2H league. He's the best starter available by a good margin, so should I pull the trigger? Here's my rotation as is, we start 5 SP and 2 RP.
I'd hold off .... that rotation of yours is rock solid and there are and will be other players bound to be there that would be of more value to your team than a risky #7 starter.
well what would b ur next waiver but if u go down to a ten spot nooo. he is injury prone and way over the hill in a yankees rotation that doesnt need him if im not mistaking they left him off the playoff roster which says a lot about him.

I'm pretty sure I remember him pitching in the playoffs, and blowing game 7 of the ALCS.

Exactly. I just ignore his posts from now on. Half of them aren't even English
Brown is an injury risk, for sure. But I'd use that #1 spot on him. Sure, last year wasn't anything to write home about. But all signs point to a healthy back. And he is only two-years removed from a 2.39 ERA, 1.14 WHIP, 185 K season.
Again, I know he could go down at any time. But...fantasy baseball is all about gambling. And the boom potential is there. So I would gamble.
And...honestly, UNLESS you have a bunch of morons in your league who will drop stud players, who else do you expect to come down the pipes with more potential than Brown???
If healthy, he's your #4 starter easily. Grab him.
i definitely would, emerging players are probablyl FA's and its HIGHLY unlikely a better player than K Brown will be outright dropped to waivers -- id grab him, hes a GREAT number seven
