I really like him this year. His K's are awesome...115 K's from a closer is real nice. His ratios should come back down this year as well.

What are the odds he gets traded, though? (I'm in an AL-only league.) I'd say pretty high.

In AL-only leagues, that's definitely a concern. However, I don't see it as a big deal in mixed leagues, since I think he'd be the closer for whatever team he got traded to. (I assume so, at least...is there any chance that this wouldn't be the case?) In fact, in mixed leagues, the possibility of a trade could actually make it even more beneficial to own Dotel, since if you're paying attention to the situation and pick up the A's new closer (Calero or Street, I assume), then you can end up with two closers instead of one.

I think this is a concern in mixed leagues as well because there's a good chance he gets traded to become someone's setup man. I'm hoping that he gets unbelievably hot in the first half so I can trade him easily.

I think he'd go to the Cubs or someone that needs a closer.

I fear with the spring that Street has had, that if he keeps it up, Beane will dump Dotel's salary quickly.

In an AL-only I'd be worried about owning Dotel. In a mixed league I'd be very comfortable with him as my #1 closer. I think he could be in Gagne territory by the end of the year.
