i don't see him getting more than a couple hundred at bats this year - not worth having on your fantasy team just yet in my opinion.
espn's oakland depth chart (
http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/teams/depth?team=oak) has him behind byrnes in left field. i guess byrnes could be traded and swisher could end up starting, but who knows.
as for swisher striking out a lot, yeah, he'll K a little. he'll also walk a ton. swisher is a billy beane guy. people who've read moneyball will tell you that beane looks very closely at stats like k/bb when drafting his players. swisher has always had a good k/bb ratio. in 2003 at triple A, he walked 103 times and struck out 109 in 125 games. last year in 60 at-bats, he walked eight times and struck out 11. that projects to 80 walks and 110 strikeouts over 600 at-bats.
i think swisher will eventually be a stud, just not yet.
