I don't know about ss, but you need to make some improvements.
Your team needs some work, in both power and pitching. While Alou was great last year, he's moved to a pitchers park, with no protection and isn't getting any younger.
Personally, I think you should start by trading for an average or bounceback 1b, like either Konerko, Giambi, or Bagwell, using a guy like Mauer or Loretta to get a good 2 for 1 at whatever position you are giving up. Once you have that 1b, you have some flexibility.
From that point, your best asset in a trade is either Huff or Mora, and you might be able to move one of them for a solid ss/sp. (prolly Huff, as many people don't think Mora is the real deal).
As for pitching, I don't know what to tell you. Watch the wire. I'm not high on Carpenter and Wright, and your relief corps isn't anything to right home about. Good luck
