VAST IMPROVEMENT??

Postby Lofunzo » Mon Mar 28, 2005 2:48 pm

I took over a last place team in a 16 team keeper league. I think that, although I can't expect to really compete this year, I improved it greatly. Here is the team that I took over:

C - J. Posada
1B - T. Helton
2B - T. Walker
3B - S. Hillenbrand
SS - C. Izturis
OF - T. Hunter
OF - P. Wilson
OF - J. Payton
UT - J. Olerud
BN - R. Ibanez
BN - M. Lawton
BN - E. Martinez
BN - D. Miller
DL - J. Giambi

SP - K. Rogers
SP - D. Lowe
RP - J. Nathan
RP - F. Cordero
P - I. Valdez
P - J. Wright
P - J. Towers
BN - D. Brazelton

Through trades and the draft, I have assembled this team:

C - Buck
1B - Helton
2B - Giles
3B - Glaus
SS - Rollins
OF - Pierre
OF - A. Sanchez
OF - Sosa
Util - Griffey, Jr.
BN - Berkman

SP - Webb
SP - M. Batista
RP - J. Nathan
RP - C. Tsao
P - M. Gonzalez
P - A. Otsuka
P - Y. Brazoban

BN - Pineiro
BN - Wolf
BN - Armas, Jr.
BN - M. Hampton
DL - CC Sabathia

The way that I see it, I have a lot of question marks but this team is much better than what I started with. Any thoughts??

i think you did a great job of upgrading your offense prob got good value for jorge but i still think that you will need to up grade your pitching staff to compete on that side of the ball but very good job with the offense thus far

I should mention that we were able to keep up to 5 players prior to this year's draft. I was able to trade my 5th round pick for Pierre. This pick was really a 10th rounder when you factor in the 5 keepers. :-? I ended up keeping Helton, Pierre, and Nathan. This allowed me 2 supplemental picks before the draft. With those, I took Giles and Berkman. I also had the 1st pick in the draft and took Rollins.

I agree that I have P issues but my hands were tied from where I started.

FYI.......Here are the cats in this H2H league:

R, H, HR, RBI, SB, FPCT, AVG, OPS
W, L, CG, SV, K, ERA, WHIP, K/BB
