Making a run at 3 straight titles

Postby Airzoom32 » Mon Mar 28, 2005 1:52 pm

Weird draft this year, I had pick 10 out of 10, and everyone picked pitchers in the second and third round. So my staff is weak, but the offense is great. What do you all think of my team, and what moves should I try to make to get another title.

R, HR, RBI, SB, K, AVG, OPS
C (1) - V. Martinez
1B (1) - Teixeira
2B (1) - Soriano
3B (1) - A. Huff
SS (1) - M. Young
OF (3) - M. Ramirez, C. Patterson, M. Cabrera
UTL(1) - Hafner
Bench - Bay

W, L, K, SV, HLD, ERA, WHIP
SP (3) - Harden, Ol. Perez, Pavano
RP (3) - K. Foulke, BJ Ryan, Hawkins
P (2) - Outska, Brazoban
Bench - Torres, Clement, Bonderman

very good offense and i don't think that you staff is that weak. Oliver is a stud and look for harden to improve greatly. Pavano will get plenty of wins pitching for NY lhis era may jump but the wins will compensate for that and i think clemente may have decent year. 3 solid closers as well, i would mabey try and trade for a solid starter

I moved up in the first round to get soriano, and moved down in the 4th round, but the problem was that everyone took pitchers between my 2nd and 3rd picks. So by the time it got back to me, the best pitcher available was Oswalt, but with Teixeira and Cabrera on the board I couldnt pass them up.

Hmmm.... I would not clear off a place for a third trophy... maybe if this were a 12 team league, maybe, but I don't think you have enough pitching here.

You will have to hit your way to a title, and hope the teams with strong staffs are spread out with their hitters.

You have a chance, but I would not bet the farm.

look to unload a bat for an arm, or maybe a 2 for 2. Depending on the quality of the arm, maybe Texiera, maybe Hafner. Also im sure you know the concern with Hawkins. I like Brazoban, as well as your offense. Pitching wins in the real big leagues, but maybe you can hit your way to a title
