Bonderman named opening day starter...

Postby moochman » Mon Mar 28, 2005 1:04 pm

according to WDFN sportsradio in Detroit. Trammell has woken up and chose his best pitcher to start the big day.

With a decent amount of run support I could see Bondy winning 18 games this season.

Also reported was that, barring injury, Dean Palmer will not make the team.

One week to go :-D

Actually, I saw in the paper this weekend that that is exactly what they're planning on doing.

Hopefully they can get something for Higgy, maybe a bag of sunflower seeds. If not no big loss!!

Tigers rotation announced.

Bonderman opening day then Maroth, Johnson for the KC series. Then Robertson, Ledezma and Bonderman against Cleveland in that order. Barring rainouts.

Jason Johnson sucks (so far). Let's hope whatever they see in him surfaces sooner or later. Maybe this is something Johnson needs. He's had high expectations since signing here and maybe the injuries/pressure was too much for him. Call that a little hopeful optimism from a Tiger fan.

I like Johnson as a middle to bottom of the rotation guy. He's got good enough stuff to very good when he's on. As for Bonderman getting opening day... it's just Tram making the right move again. I think he knows what he's doing.

Go Tigers.

I'm gambling on him as my 3rd starter in one league and my 4th starter in another.........so I'm hoping for the best. This is good news that they view him as their #1 though. ;-D

He has been viewed as the #1 for a while now. THe only reason they were reluctant to pitch Bonderman on opening day is because they didn't want to put extra pressure on the 22 year old.
