If we wouldn't be coming off of some of the sorriest seasons in club history, I would be excited about this season. Instead, I am worried this could be another ugly season. :-o

If the Royals can average win 3 games a week, that will give us (at worst) a 78-84 record.

My biggest worry is that there are so many players backing into jobs coming out of Spring Training. The 5th starter will be the one who screws up the least between Woods and Bautista. 3B looks like Teahan even though most people in management feel he isn't ready (assuming its not from a money standpoint). Gotay has been great this spring but he would not be the starter if Graff wasn't injured.

The one player I think has done everything possible to earn a starting spot is Brown. If he can continue to hit with power he could make the Royals look pretty smart for not going after a big money FA corner OF.
