Wisconsin Badgers vs North Carolina

Postby BigMusky » Sun Mar 27, 2005 7:06 pm

Badgers are down by three, 1 minute left, Noth Carolina ball....and they start fouling? Anyone else think this was stupid? They then went down by five, a quick missed three by the badgers, two more free throws and down by seven within 15 seconds. I think they should have played for the stop. Even if UNC ran the clock all the way down and made the basket they still would have been down by five with 20 seconds left and the ball. But if they stop them then they get a shot to tie. So much for Bo Ryan being the mastermind genious everyone up here says he is.

not just wisconsin, but a lot of teams do that strategy now instead of playing hard defense to get the ball back... something valvano did in 1983 that worked and now a lot of teams try it now, instead of just bullying down on defense....

another that might have affected his decision to foul was feltons low free throw shooting percentage...but he must not have realized that he missed like 27 out of 32 free throws earlier this year after injuring his wrist which is why his free throw percentage is in the 60s instead of in the 80s like it has been his first 2 years.....
