Rios sent down?

Alexis Rios - OF - Blue Jays


According to the Toronto Sun, Alex Rios could lose his starting job in right field to Gabe Gross and his roster spot after Ted Lilly comes off the disabled list on April 10.
That would come as quite the surprise. Rios was pretty solid in the second half of last season and has started to come on after a slow start to his spring.

He doesn't deserve to lose his job, but at this point, we should probably give up on trying to figure out what the Blue Jays are going to do.

Wow, this comes as a huge suprise..Personally I like Rios better then Gross. Rios has great speed, devoloping power, and it only getting better..I think sending him down would be a mistake. Rios should be starting..

it's tough to ignore what gross has been doing in ST...but i don't think they should send rios down cuz of that. i dunno how well rios has been playing this spring, but i know he hit a homer last week...which is not bad for a guy who hit only 1 HR all year in 04.

a thing that has to be figured out before rios or whoever gives up the spot in the roster for lilly...is when lilly is actually coming back. he hasn't even pitched in ST yet and they say he'll start the 3rd game against BOS? not likely IMO.

let's say lilly doesn't come back in the 10th and is at least 2 weeks out...2 weeks should be enough time to decide who to send down.
