Should I fix mp starting Pitching? If so, How?

Postby JayMags71 » Sun Mar 27, 2005 3:06 pm

I've made a couple of changes since I've drafted. I now have some different questions.

12 team H2H keeper ml points league w/6 keepers. Can start either 5 SP's & 1 RP or 4 SP's and 2 RP's:

1B: Derrek Lee, Carlos Pena
2B: Alfonso Soriano, Ty Wigginton
3B: Bill Mueller, Pedro Feliz, Garrett Atkins
SS: Bobby Crosby, Jack Wilson
C: Javy Lopez, John Buck
OF: Manny Ramirez, Vernon Wells, Ken Griffey, Jr., Alexis Rios, Jason Bay, Brad Hawpe
SP: Tim Hudson, Josh Beckett, Javier Vasquez, Freddy An. Garcia, Paul Wilson, Sidney Ponson
RP: Brad Lidge, Jose Mesa

Are any of these WW Pitchers better than anyone on my current Roster?

Kyle Lohse
Carlos Silva
Aaron Harang
Chris Capuano
Esteban Loiza
Victor Zambrano
Jason Johnson
Brian J. Anderson
Runlevys Hernandez

Should I just wait, and start the season? Should I trade a Position player? If so, who?

Well Lima is a starter even though he is listed as a RP so that is a moot point.

I meant Jose Mesa, not Jose Lima. Sorry.

You will want to start 4 SP's and 2 RP's. Ponson and Paul Wilson are WW material in a 12 team league. You look a little weak at third base and at your third starter in the OF. IF Griffey gets off on a hot streak, trade him like no other for a third baseman.
Yes, I was, uh... I was thinking about ordering the tape, the videotape... about the college girls and the... the wild... the wildness. They're going wild or something? Somebody told me... about going wild.

Are You implying that it's unlikely that Griffey gets off on a hot streak?

You lack a 3b and a good 3rd OF.

I would drop Ponson and pick up Kyle Lohse. Ponson is waiver wire material even in a 12 team league. The only good thing about Ponson is that he'll be the 4th starter at the start of the season and should have some favorable matchups.

Your weakest position, as others have said, is 3rd base.

I agree with what another poster said. Wait for Griffey to go on a hot streak and trade him for a 3rd baseman. Griffey is way too injury prone and you can count on him getting hurt sooner or later. Jason Bay is an adequate 3rd outfielder.

Definitely start 4 SP and 2 RP. Jose Mesa is underrated, I've had him the last two years and he always gets bad press but will get you Saves.

Umm...

The team that originally posted on this thread, well, stinks. Are Lowry, Madritsch, Haren, Blanton, Meyer already spoken for? Wilson and Ponson suck but picking up Kyle Lohse? Are u insane? At least Ponson has an offense behind him...

Also, I think your SS is weaker than your 3B. Feliz should get you good numbers there. I'd try to get Russ Adams (SS TOR), especially in a keeper league. I explained his stats and upside in another post. Go ahead and check him out if you didn't see it.
