Dye a bust?

Any thoughts on what kind of season Jermaine Dye will have with his new team?

I personally see a solid season now that he will play in a better park and line up.

I've been curious and undecided about him as well mmdmaznn....
If I recall, there was some buzz about him last year because he spent the off season with some miracle worker training - guru who had a good track record of getting positive results with other players (anyone know the guys name?) .... unless he had a similar experience this off season, i think he will regress a bit, and earn himself a big injury-risk tag.

I thought he was going to do it last year... Maybe it'll be this year. I think the new ballpark and new clubhouse will help him too. If he gets off to his usual fast April & May pace, think about trading him - his stats blow after the all star break.

I'm pretty comfortable with him as my 4th/5th outfielder.

He should be good for .260 25HR 80RBI. Nothing too spectacular but solid. Good upside at that hitters park.

I like him for a late rounder this year. Great hitters park and great lineup. At last check, he was sitting at #3 in the lineup behind two speedsters and in front of Konerko (although Frank Thomas's return may change that whenever that happens). If he's ever going to have a nice comeback season, this is the year.

actually Dye is slated to bat 5th in the lineup with Everett starting the season in the 3 hole and Konerko hitting cleanup, I still see good things happening for Dye this year, I have him for .275/28/95

I think 270 25 90 but only if he plays all year. I see an injury year for Dye. Just a feeling

Ok, so they changed it up since last I checked. But it's still not a bad deal to bat behind Konerko. Dye's still a big gamble though, he's about as inconsistent from season to season as a player can get.

I like Dye's chances for a rebound this year.... but to answer your question, I think it's kinda hard for anyone to be a "Bust" when they are getting drafted so late, or not even drafted at all. If he produces for you, great. If he stinks, oh well.
