It's within the realm of possibilities, but I wouldn't count on it. I'd say closer to 30 than 40. I project Soriano to rebound somewhat, and finish around .288 33hr 110rbi 22sb's. His hammy seems to be better, and should finish around 20 SB's again. I'll take these numbers...
If his hamstring is healthy, I'll be surprised if he doesn't top 30 SBs. The lineup has him back at leadoff. And he's just been smoking the ball the last week, after a slow start. Two more doubles yesterday.
there is no reason to think he won't get 40 this year. the fact that so many people think it is improbable seems absurd to me. do people forget that before last season he had 38 and 39 hr seasons back to back at yankee stadium. if memory serves the last guy to hit 40 playing his home games in that stadium since the 1976 renovation was reggie jackson who had 41 in 1980. think for a minute about how amazing that is. now that he plays in arlington, why wouldn't he be able to hit 40 with ease?
I'm surprised about how quite a few are down on Soriano this year. He's still far and away the top fantasy 2B who'll give you five category production. I personally think he'll hit roughly .290-32-100-20 SB. Since Soriano hit 39 and 38 homers in 2002 and 2003, I'd be surprised if he doesn't come closer to them again this year. He's a very streaky player, but as long as he gets off on the right foot, there's no reason to doubt his abilities. Soriano leaves a lot more to be desired since he aimlessly flails at many pitches, but his raw skillset is extremely impressive. He won't reach the high ceiling some thought he could reach in the past, but Sori will be a superb fantasy player again this year.
I doubt he'll reach over 30 SBs due to the hamstring.

If He's healthy he'll be worth of a 1st round pick no ifs ands or buts since he's hitting leadoff. He's not healthy, he won't be healthy, I avoided him in all my drafts.
AVG/ SLG/ OBP/ OPS have all declined the last 2 years, after his big 27 year-old breakout year. That plus the hamstring made me avoid him. A lot of the articles flying around about him seem to tend toward the 'young player' type of language as if he's on the cusp but he's 29...
I do like the way he plays, swinging at balls all over the place and driving them out but not enough to bet a first or second round pick in a $10 office league on...
