Maybe I'm just nervous, but I am concerned about Ben Sheets subpar spring. Does anybody have any injury update on him that I don't know about, or is this just par for the course, tyring to get in shape for the season. I took him over Schmidt in the second round of my keeper league draft this year and I don't want to look stupid

He'll be fine. He has probably been working on certain pitches during the ST games, or something like that. Either way its nothing to be worried about.
Sheets is recovering from lower back surgury in the off season...everything that I have read though has him right on pace where they want him...so it should be no concern come opening day...

England's Worcester Canoe Club set the world record for paddling a hand-propelled bathtub. The 25 man team covered a distance of 55 miles, 425 yards in 24 hours on September 28 and 29, 1979.

I think the fact that he just happened to break out in the year that he added a few mph to his fastball, allowing it to perfectly set up his curveball, probably indicates that it's not a fluke.
And PresHabib, as an owner of Jason Schmidt, I feel your pain - Schmidt has been awful in his last few ST starts. But luckily, Spring Training is just Spring Training.
Its hard for a ninth pick overall (that was sheets, right?) To just be a one year wonder...usually when those guys have a huge breakout season it's cuz their good. Typically a guy who is a one year wonder brady anderson is a guy who brady anderson is projected to be brady anderson just OK who comes brady anderson out of nowhere and hits brady anderson 50 homers. Ben Sheets, while last season was SUPERIOUS in comparison to his other seasons, is most commonly projected to be closer to an 04 ben sheets than an 03 ben sheets.
Interestingly enough though...i went back and reread the recap of the game in which Sheets struck out 18 atlanta braves...he is quoted in the article as saying "I'm not really a strikeout pitcher". Christ Ben, if not you, then who? Yeesh. Haha.
