how big is your bench baby?

Just wondering how many players are on your bench and the average in leagues. We have a ten team league with a 3 man bench (that I think is silly). It supposed to encourage trading. What do you think?

3 man bench....wow.... i prefer a 6 or 7 man bench due to the fact that many players get a mini hurt and have to miss 3 or 4 games in a row during the season,,,but they are not hurt enough to go on DL but they will miss a few games..... and also i prefer a bigger bench just in case one of my pitchers has a "bad looking " start coming up such as against boston or at colorado.....

I play in 2leagues and they each have 5. A 3 man bench in a 10 team league is pretty ridiculous. Why trade when there has to be a great choice of free agents on the WW? :-?

2-man DL in my two 14-team leagues.

40-man roster in my 12-teamer with a 25 slots being "active" and the other 15 going to prospects/15-day/60-day DL - as you see fit.

3 spots in a ten team league is ridiculous, there will be mad waiver activity all yr though

in 1 14 team league i think 3 or 4 is about right, otherwise the wire has NOTHING on it (my league has 3 and one IL spot)

in my 10 team league we have a bench of 6 and one DL spot -- much more reasonable i think

too small and theres nothing to even manage, too big and there is never any waiver activity

Most of my leagues have between 3 and 5 bench spots plus DL's... :-)

We have 5, one guy was lobbying to add a spot or two but, after I put a blurb out to the effect that 'this may serve to encourage dynamics in the league as a lot of you seemed intent on drafting backups...' [many of whom eg. Lieberthal, etc. didn't really strike me as being worth bothering spending a pick on...I didn't point this out though... }:-) ] he changed his tune and doesn't want another spot added.

same here 10 team league with 3 bench spots. However we do start 5 OFs, CI, and MI....and 9 Ps. The FA wire has guys like Floyd, Byrd, Biggio etc so I think it pretty balanced. I really like the expanded roster because it really tests you draft skills and FA moves.
