What's the deal with Tram's Johnson fixation?

Postby moochman » Sat Mar 26, 2005 3:09 am

I see Johnson had another stellar outing: 31/3 innings, 10 hits, a walk, a hit batsman, and 8 earned runs. And yet Tram insists on having this clown start on opening day. I don't get it. Does Johnson have pictures of Tram and Gibby or what?

It was hilarious during the third inning when they were interviewing Trammell as Johnson was being lit up. He is sitting there stumbling with his answers shile trying to down play the putrid ST that the Diabetic Unit is having.

I just don't understand why he is so insistant that the Diabetic Unit starts the opener. He gives him a confidence booster by announcing him the starter and he shows how well that worked by sucking all ST. Seems like the finish to last season is no fluke. This guy blows, should be no more than the number 4 starter.
I can see, but I don't agree, with him not wanting Bondy to have the pressure, but why the mercinary Johnson. he has done nothing to deserve it. Why not let the poor bastage that you hung out there in '03 to lose over 20 games start the opener? I am no Maroth fan, but he is much more deserving than Johnson.
Thank you for letting me vent. Don't worry, you have done no permanant damage to your brain cells by reading this.

Yeah this has been really bugging me too. JJ has been stinking up since last July but yet he has "earned" the opening day start??? Come on Tram get your stuff together. I'm not sure he should start out of Bonderman, Robertson or Maroth but I am quite sure that JJ hasn't earned jack squat.

I'll be at opening day front and center but if JJ stinks it up I'm going to lose it! The only good thing about opening day if JJ starts is the fact that Lima is starting for KC and he has looked worse than JJ in Detroit! Hopefully JJ can put ST behind him and pitch like he did last year against Toronto on opening day but I'm not holding my breath.

As long as Bonderman and JJ both get in an early season game against KC I'll be happy. After all the days off, all-star break, and doubleheaders thrown in, the best pitchers should get the most starts, anyway.

Go Tigers.

;-D You can't imagine my envy ;-D

And that is why JJ shouldn't be the opening day pitcher. It's a special, magical day. Everything should be done to ensure the best chances to win that game.

Enjoy dude ;-D
