Imagine this:
MONEY LEAGUE - rotisserie.
the person who places third gets 60 percent of the pot.
the person who places first gets 30 percent of the pot.
the person who places second gets 10 percent of the pot.
so the guy whose in fourth with a month to go - still has a shot - and not just a shot to win third - but to win the whole league.
and since they always say second place is first loser - imagine if you know you have to get a lead but it can't be a big lead cause eventually you have to give it up to try to win third place vice first or second.
I'd like to try it one year just to see how weird it got in september.
You'd have guys picking up the crappiest pitchers to try to increase their ERA and whip and adding crappy batters to lower their batting average....
just an idea - looking for your inputs. Is this whole thread a waste of time? Or is this idea worth persuing some day?

maybe it would be:
60 percent for third
30 percent for second
10 percent for first
that way as long as tyou make the top three - you win your money - but it would still have the craziness in september

Yeah that's really stupid. You should just try and have a better team so you don't have to resort to self-pity and the creation of schemes like this.

thats retarded, the division i like for money in a 12 team league is:
1st 60 percent
2nd 30 percent
9th 10 percent
that way EVERYONE stays in it all year -- and you get the people that are in 7th or 6th have to make decisions, and the people at the bottom try hard -- Ive been doing this for a while
In H2H leagues, we have the playoffs, paying the top 2 and then have a "toliet bowl" where the bottom 4 teams have their own playoffs to get their entry fee back -- no one quits that way

i don't like any system where you would have people trying to make their team worse in order to drop in the standings. To each, his or her own!

3 of the your last 4 posts... do you
ever have anything worth saying, or do you just like bashing others? If you don't have anything worth posting, please don't

(and I apologize to others for the hypocritical nature of this post)

the wacky payout thing seems fun, but probably very frustrating and extremely hard to strategize for.
