what stands out to me is your choice of 3 relief pitchers. you should win your saves, but their lack of total innings pitched will hurt you in other categories. sp is ok but radke is on his last legs and i think the league has caught up to dontrelles quirky delivery.if willis starts off hot look to trade him while his value is high. lineup is so-so. huff has tremendous potential but hes an under achiever and has a rep (not well known) as a head case. doesn't come to play every night. Rolen and your OF is your strength. I'd be very busy if i was you to improve the rest of the team. hope your league, unlike mine, has guys that like to trade.

Explain that please. I kinda thought that was par for the course.

Also, I don't necessarily agree with the lack of power thought. 6 out of 9 of my starters have hit 30+ HR in one of the past two seasons. Now I'm not banking on all of them doing that, but I certainly think that it's not unreasonable for most of them to have 25+. I'm also assuming that the days of 55+ HR are gone for the most part. Honestly, avg. is what concerns me most.

As for trades, I hope I'm in a trading league cause I love to do it. I've been thinking about targeting Hideki (had him last year and he's soooo consistent). Wadda you all think? Who would I have to give up? I think the talk of Wells and 30/30 is overly optimistic. Give me some ideas on players I should target and who to give up.

If there's something I'm overlooking, definitely point it out. Once again, thanks for the help - all responses are appreciated and noted! ;-D

Ok, I'm dropping Lowry to pick up Od. Perez off waivers (and hopefully I'll be able to pick up Lowry again later). Also, I've got a trade on the table - my boone/lo Duca/Konerko/Izturis for his pudge/Tex.

my bad on the 3 relief pitcher comment. i didn't notice that your league has 22rounds. mine has 19 and 2 relief pitchers is the norm. i don't agree with bruno on your power capabilities. you're good there. matsui has gone from being underrated to being overrated. i'll be surprised if you can work a good trade for him. wells is supposed to be given the green light this year with delgado gone and 30-30 is a distinct possibility. Young players tend to get overlooked in some leagues. There r some good ones out there like D. Wright, J. Mauer, B. Inge, J. Morneau, C. utley that u might be able to get on the cheap that will help strengthen your bench. Everyone knows the big guns,,,trading for them is basically a 50-50 proposition. look for guys under the radar.

Postby Clockerq » Sat Mar 26, 2005 6:39 pm

i never liked 4 for 1 trades. i'll be surprised if he takes it. quantity doesn't replace quality. :-t

Well, he took the trade. I figure I upgraded at two positions and downgraded at one where I had a capable backup. It was a good trade for the other side too b/c he had trash at 2b and ss.

New Lineup -

c - pudge
1b - Tex
2b - b roberts
ss - greene
3b - rolen
of - crawford, huff, v wells
util - hidalgo/ p wilson
bn - m lieberthal
sp - oswalt, ol. perez, od. perez, radke, d train, lowry
rp - foulke, looper, affeldt

I think I'll add eckstein or berroa and keep lowry now. Suggestions?

misread your trade. didn't realize u were getting texiera too. great trade for you unless pudge is going to have a bad steroid free year. steroid use by players is the X factor this year. good luck. team looks better.
