Where did you see Taveras will be starting in center?
It looks as if Willy Taveras will start in center field for the Astros, meaning Biggio will move back to second. Burke will either go back to the minors or stay with the big club as a utilityman.

wow what does this do for biggios value??? Top 10 2b numbers???
I hadn't heard that news about Burke yet. I would rather have Burke if both were getting regular PT and since I guess Iguchi is he's worth a shot, though I don't see him doing much this year, much like the Matsuis their first years.
Garner has said Burke probably hasn't done enough to bump Biggio to the OF, where they have both Taveras and Scott playing very well so far this spring. So he seems destined for a bench spot to start out at least.
For having so many questions at the beginning of spring training, the Astros sure have had enough guys play very well so far competeing for jobs. Just wonder if that carries over after April 3rd.
Unfortunately for Burke, Luke Scott and Taveras are likely to open as starting OF's alongside Lane. Once Berkman returns, either Scott or Taveras will be the fourth OF. All this means Burke either heads into the dreaded part time role, or he might open in AAA if they want him playing every day. Of course, this could all change in the next seven days, but at least that's the way it looks today.
As for Iguchi, I am definitely wary and think he's being seriously overrated by many owners. The adjustment for the Japanese guys has frequently resulted in rough first years stateside. So while I would have to rate Iguchi over Burke, I'm not excited about him.
Don't overestimate the difficulty in the transistion from Japan. Truth be told we just don't know yet. Shingo was a marginal player in Japan, Ichiro and H. Matsui both had great rookie years, so far only Kaz has been a bust
