My team: not enough power?

Postby Doc19 » Fri Mar 25, 2005 10:36 am

What's up fellas...

This is my team in a 10-team, 5x5 roto league with large rosters -- all in all I am pleased with my balance, I just wonder if I am a little light in power... I am aware that I have a few injury risks, and that my bullpen aside from Hoffman is mediocre; love my staff but wouldnt be opposed to trading a starter for a position player to fill needs... any thoughts would be great -- thanx!

i'm not a big podsednik fan (especially since you have abreu). he'll win you steals, but kill your average. i might squeeze some steals out of him for about half of the year (if that long) and then package him with a solid starter for someone with a better power/avg combination...speaking of your starters, i really like the depth, but i'm not a big fan of having sheets as my anchor...i like to have at least one guy with a shot at 20 wins and he just won't get that with Milwaukee...other than that, i like your team.

please rate my team:

I would pick up a power bat for your team. Utley, inge, nevin, green, pods, and crisp are not going to help you in RBI's and HR's. I would look to grab a guy like hildalgo and play him when he is hot.

I am not too high on that lineup esp since I am of the beliver that you take all bats and pitching later.

yeah- I really didnt want podsednik either, however all of the big steals guys (crawford, pierre, even reyes) went a lot earlier than I thought that they should have... I actually ended up trading for podsednik b/c none of the other teams would trade their speed guys and I didnt think I had enough... traded Brian Giles, Aaron Boone, and Miguel Batista for Podsednik, Utley, and Danys Baez... perhaps I shouldnt have made that deal but my team was starting to look like a bunch of moose...

Not much power on the ww, but will keep my eyes open for trades.
