Please Help: Strengths and Weaknesses?

Postby coolarmadillo » Fri Mar 25, 2005 9:53 am

I think I have some idea of my weaknesses (closers, 3rd-5th starters, and possibly batting average), but please let me know if you see my team differently. Strengths and other weaknesses would be good to know when I start shaping it through trades. This a standard 5x5, 12-team, mixed league. It is a money league, so I'd really appreciate any feedback. Thanks.

where's the feedback folks? it seems like more people are seeking advice than giving it...that's fine i guess, but please offer a little advice and leave links to your posts...you'll get more feedback yourself that way. thanks.

Thank you for taking the time to rate my team.

I think you need some HRs and a high BA. You are going to score and drive in runs with your players, however I do not see a lot of HR potention and I also notice not a lot of your players have high batting averages.
When it comes to HRs, Kent is in LA now (big ball park), Beltran is also in a much bigger ball park than his previous two. Huff will give you some HR power.

I like your strike out potential when it comes to your pitchers. Your top two starters should give you a lot of strikeouts. As you pointed out you need a #3 starter. Not really you have Greinke so you need a #4 & 5. Sometimes a good set up man (I have Donnelly and Crainn) is just as effective as a #4 or 5 closer. Don't forget the two categories that are impossible to predict (in 5X5) are Wins and Saves. Your closers are not bad but unproven. I would maybe try and get more of an established closer.

I hope this helps.

Good Luck!!

I think you are pretty set on the offensive end of things. However, I think you really need to look at getting some more SP. I don't see you getting much in the way of W's with you current staff. I would throw some trades out there and see if you can get someone to bite on a 2 for 1.

You have a pretty good offense, though I agree you do need BA alot, but you shouldnt be that bad in hoemrs. You do defiantly need help in pitching after your closers and 1-2 starters. Gonzalez is good since he has amazing ratios and ERA, and maybe even saves later in the year, though you need to upgrade King and Affedlt....I'd mkae Grienke a starter and deal king and affedlt away for some good starters.

i think your offense is ppretty solid all the way down the lineup...you have a couple question marks ar RP but if everything goes as planned for you they will be fine...i dont really like kent or bay but you were smart and got some good depth at all positions...if a guy like dye or cameron gets off to a hot start i would move them for another SP

good luck
