Jason Bay took 25-30 ''dry'' swings yesterday and also took 15 soft-toss swings.
Bay, who is recovering from a bruised wrist, could be ready to take batting practice today. ''He swung the bat extremely well,'' manager Lloyd McClendon said. ''Our staff was very impressed with everything he did.''
