The specs are great, but what are you planning on using it for? Its overkill to surf porn sites or chat on AOL. Chances are you could get something that will do everything you need for at least $300 less.

Don't buy a gateway

here are some questions...

1. Why do you need a notebook? they are less powerful and cost more.

Desktops you can bulid sick for like 500 bucks

2. Don't buy a gateway..they are trash.....

I guess not many questions...but building a computer is much better then buying a notebook just for the heck of it....and way cheaper...gateways suck

I travel a lot. And will be going overseas this summer for 5 weeks. I already have a pretty good desktop computer.

Sweet...well what I would do is go to a computer forum and see if someone could build you a laptop...I don't like Gateways...i'd go with dell for a laptop...Remember that pirating is wrong but so very easy

Why? Because you've been brainwashed by Intel's marketing of entirely clock speeds? Lower clocked and cheaper AMD's perform equal to or better than higher clocked and more expensive P4's.

Nothing wrong with buying an AMD processor. In fact it's better bang/buck than a P4 in my opinion ;-D

And I won't buy a Gateway

What are you trying to brainwash us with more of that AMD performance over speed BS? :-D

Maine has a good swing for a pitcher but on anything that moves, he has no chance. And if it's a fastball, it has to be up in the zone. Basically, the pitcher has to hit his bat. - Mike Pelfrey
