Rotoworld thinks he may get the start on Thursday:

Now that the Mariners have released Aaron Sele, expect phenom Felix Hernandez (shoulder bursitis) to get his shot in Seattle.
Jorge Campillo will get the start tonight, but Hernandez should be slated to start on Thursday and was reportedly on the M's chartered flight yesterday to Detroit. Hernandez pitched four hitless, scoreless innings against Omaha on Saturday, and Tacoma pitching coach Rafael Chaves is impressed. ''Felix is showing he's probably a little better than the competition in Triple A.'' Aug. 2 - 10:03 am et

Hernandez, as expected, will be called up to start Thursday's game at Detroit, the Tacoma News Tribune reports.

The Mariners have a few options to make room for Hernandez, but are likely to send the stuggling Joel Pineiro to Triple-A Tacoma. Hernandez's call-up is about the only thing M's fans have had to look forward to this season. The phenom has had a little problem with walks at Tacoma (48 in 88 innings) and his K:BB ratio has wilted to 2:1 in Triple-A from 3:1 in Double-A and better than 4:1 in Single-A. He might not be the Dwight Gooden some scouts tagged him as early on, but if he consistently throws strikes, the Mariners will be pleased.

First Major League start is in the books.

Line:

5IP, 81pitches, 3H, 2BB, 4K, 2R, 1ER, ERA 1.80, WHIP 1.00

Not bad, he had 2 BB and 2H and his only ER in the first inning. Was pretty sharp there on out...

I can't belive I have not returned to this thread in over two weeks. I guess there have been so many threads to pick from, but

this is the original.
After all these months, his first three starts have been even better than I could have imagined.

Thank you Felix Hernandez.
