I have Worrell, but F-Rod's numbers are much better. Who will close the rest of the way for the G-men?

Right now, it looks like Alou is going with Worrell, but if he starts to struggle, Rodriguez might get the save chances. That said, if the Giants remain a contending team and it becomes clear that Nen is out for the season, I wouldn't be surprised if they make a play to acquire a real closer, probably Benitez or Alfonseca.

Yeah, I would just love to see how Benitez and Bonds get along. That would be the baseball soap opera of the season.
If Baltimore, Cleveland or Colorado are out of contention by the all star break, I could also see Julio, Baez or Jimenez being traded to the Giants.

i would concur with that. the giants seem to traditionally do business with national league clubs though:
kent - mets
nen - marlins
livan - marlins
i can think of exceptions (durham from the white sox, snow from the angels etc.)
that said, i would be real surprised to to see julio go to the giants.
just a thought.

I don't see the Giants trading for a closer. Those guys mentioned aren't better than what they already have. Jimeniz is freaking awful, this guy has already been pounded in like 3-4 games.

If by some how Worell is available in your league, grab him now. Do it. But I think F-Rod does get some saves, although not nearly as much as Worrell, who is doing a great job thus far. I don't see SF trading for a closer later on unless their bullpen totally implodes.

This is Worrell's glory year...
Alou is an old time manager and believes in players paying their dues which Worrell has done...
It's his job to lose although I can see F-Rod and Nathan getting a few opps to test them out in pressure situations
If Nathan keeps throwing the way he does I think he's going to leapfrog F-Rod
