Any thoughts on my team?

Postby denny_32 » Wed Mar 23, 2005 1:18 pm

This is my first serious fantasy baseball league that I am in. We have 12 teams and drafted both AL and NL. This is a 5x5 12 team league. Is there any positions that I should try to improve on, and who might be a good addition to my team? Thanks.

You might scout around for a MI, if Polanco doesn't hold onto a job in Philly. I've got him as well and am keeping an eye open.
Looks like he may have 3B for the start of the year due to injury though.

how slow can you go???/

Postby rajah » Wed Mar 23, 2005 2:00 pm

You have NO speed on this team. I would guess you would be dead last in that category.

Never seen a league that has 30 players on a roster. Means that there shouldn't be much on the WW. However, I would consider packing up some of your RP to try to get some speed someplace. You will not compete for the category, but you can be more competitive.

Looks like you have a lot of 1B. Try packing up a couple of them (Sweeney, who is injury prone, and maybe Broussard) to get an outfielder with some speed. Find the team that is loaded with speed and see if they are hurting at a position or in a category. If they need corner infielders, try the above. Throw in a RP if you have to and try to get a burner. It will be tough, but maybe you can pull it off. I would stay away from J. Pierre as he has not played in 17 days with a "calf pull" - could be a problem. You probably can't get Crawford, but it's worth a shot. Vidro won't get you anything in SB, but maybe you can swap him and a RP for someone at the position that will. You probably can't get Soriano, but M. Giles will get you about 15 and improve your BA, too.

I don't think you will be successful with your first shot, but keep plugging away. You should be able to put something together.
