Sammy thanks

Postby nuggets » Wed Mar 23, 2005 12:07 am

Did anyone see the "ad" in the Trib on Feb 3, 2005 from Sammy? It says:

It's been an honor to play for the
best fans in baseball. I was proud to be a Cub.
My heartfelt thanks to the Cubs organization,
my teammates and the fans of Chicago
for 13 wonderful years.

Thank you Chicago - I love you!

signed Sammy Sosa

My Dad has it hanging in his kitchen. How do we all feel about this out there in cubby land? I'm undecided.

I'm not a Cubs fan but Sosa always came off to me as being more concerned about his public image than his play. Just my opinion.

I have a distinct feeling that the ad was Katz' idea and not Sosa's

Eh, that's the least he could do. I just hope all the right field bums stay over there when I go to Wrigley this summer. I always sit in left field but I have a feeling with Sammy gone a lot of people will migrate over.

As a huge cubs fan. I loved sosa, but he wasn't producing anymore.

It was great when he would run out the field when you are at wrigley ;-D

Only if we would have gone for Roberts.

We got a prospect too. We also got some flexibility in the old payroll.
