There will come a day when Barry Bonds leaves baseball, and everything about the game will be the better for it.

Why? he's the best fantasy player out there! Who do you have ahead of him?

I agree. I like the numbers he puts up and believe he will get the Avg. back to around .300 this year and if he can he will be a clear cut first overall pick imo.

Im very late on doing my FB stuff this season...I have Arod & Pujols ahead of him,he's 3rd.

So the Cafe's opinion is Carlos Beltran is #1 this year...see that's why i asked!

Pujols
Vlad
Arod
Beltran
Abreu
Helton
Sheffield
Manny
Tejada
Ichiro
Santana
Randy

That's not entirely based on actual production value. For example I have Tejada and Soriano lower because you can get Jeter/Garciaparra/Giles several rounds later which is better value, to put it simplistically without going into a long winded explanation of team construction strategy. The Outfielders are higher because the demise of San Francisco OF has made the position thinner this year than normal.

My league...

Postby uprightcitizen » Tue Mar 22, 2005 6:05 pm

...went something like this:

Pujols
ARod
Vlad
Beltran
Cabrerar
Tejada
Abreu
RJ (me)
Santana
Helton
Manny
Soriano

I was able to pick up Sheff the next round at pick #5 and felt happy with my first two picks.

In the Cafe Challenge, the top 12 drafted were:

Pujols
A-Rod
Vlad
Beltran
RJ
Tejada
Abreu
Santana
Ramirez
Soriano
Helton
Schmidt

Other than Other than A-Rod going so early, and Ramirez too to some extent, I think that's a pretty well drafted first round (I don't like Santana as a first rounder this year but that's just opinion I guess).

I got Beltran at #4 but definately would have taken him #1 if I had that pick.
