That's a toughie as I have them pegged in the same strata of quality; however, Blalock - to me - has the bigger upside as he had some rougher months last year and still ended up out-rbi'ing and out-running Ramirez; however, Ramirez (as I was an owner last year) was sooo consistent and brought an amazing average for that amount of power.

Both should get better this year but I like that Texas lineup more for the studs around Blalock and their run-scoring potential. The Cubs, as we remember, scored an innordinate amount of runs last year via the longball (and Ramirez's run totals reflect that) while Texas put up large run totals period.

I think Ramirez comes back to earth some this year in avg with Sosa gone and Blalock improves.

I take Hammerin' Hank.

I see Blalock's inconsistency catching up to him and Aramis taking a step forward.

Blalock but not by much. I personally think Ramirez has the higher upside because he's shown a little more power and a higher BA than Blalock. But Blalock's progress as a player over then past three years has been much more consistant and that's why I would pick him.

I prefer Aramis. He should have a better average and just as good home runs. Probably less runs and RBI because of the lineup and park, but not by much.
