Finding Steals

Hello everyone,

I recently fouled up my draft due to a brain cramp, and unintentionally punted steals.

I would like to find someone out there who might be under the radar as a quick pick-up, rather than working a trade for Crawford or Freel or another established player.

With Gathright being sent down, is there a sleeper out there with speed? Or should I pursue the trade option?

i would pursue a trade, as you have too much talent sittin on your bench now in wright and morneau.... i am pretty sure somebody in your league would be biting at the bits to get one of them on their team..... try morneau and GA for crawford and see what happens....

Sanchez, Freel, Endy Chaves, Byrnes, Willie Harris, Nook Logan, Tike Redman are all reasons drafting Carl Crawford too high is a losing strategy. Throw in Darin Erstad, Womack, Miles, Chris Burke, Luis Rivas, Dave Wright, Aaaaarrrrron Booooone, Angel Berroa, Lugo, Izturis, X, Guzman, Jason Bartlett, Randy Winn, Lew Ford, Milton Bradley, Mike Cameron, Jacque Jones, Reggie Sanders, Dave Roberts, CoCo Crisp, Hairston Jr., Lofton, DeJesus, Alex Rios, Baldellie, Brady Clark, Luis Matos, Willie Taveras and you that by not drafting an SB you give yourself the opportunity to pick up one or some of these player who all will have little steals streaks and get at least 12(keeping it safe) this year. Pick one of them up, play your hot power hitters and you should do well. Many of those players have 20-30+ SB potential.

while I completely disagree with nuggets theory and the players he mentioned, you can get cheap SBs late.

Yes, Jeremy Reed is available; and the wire shows Chavez, Izturis, Lawton and Cameron as well.

I'll have to look into Jeremy Reed, he is an intriguing possibility, thanks for pointing me toward him.

With 13 offensive categories I wouldn't worry about steals.

Your team as a whole seems kinda weak for an 8 team league. I'd be real concerned about having that staff. Raiders is right though that you have a lot of talent sitting on the bench. Try to do some 2 for one deals and I would address your pitching instead of your lack of SB.
