Borowski OUT for 2 months!!

Postby jaydog2314 » Tue Mar 22, 2005 9:15 am

ESPN radio just reported that Joe Borowski broke a bone in his hand yesterday and will be out for at least 2 months. I wonder who will be the closer now???

I heard the same report, but can't seem to find anything on the net to back it up - I'm trying to find out who the closer will be also. Whoever it is will be a hot pickup today...

Joe Borowski suffered a hairline crack in his right wrist while fielding a comebacker in a Cactus League game Monday and will be out for at least three-to-four weeks, according to the Chicago Tribune. Borowski was pitching well this spring and was in line to reclaim the Cubs' closer job, but this injury will prevent him from pitching in the majors until mid-May at the earliest. LaTroy Hawkins will be thrust into the closer role for the time being.

Maine has a good swing for a pitcher but on anything that moves, he has no chance. And if it's a fastball, it has to be up in the zone. Basically, the pitcher has to hit his bat. - Mike Pelfrey
