Street

The A's, especially Macha, love this guy. They say he looks like Dennis Eckersley. He is going to be the # 1 or 2 option out of the pen. He is having a decent spring.

should make the team with Bradfords injury...some say the way he is pitching he may have made the team with a healthy Bradford. I am a University of Texas grad, so I am biased, but this kid should be great.

Thanks guys. So do you like him over D Marte (Chi) as a set up guy? Appears to be a wash unless Dotel is moved.....

street ........... How quickly is he the MAN in Oakland?

Postby JazzCow » Wed Mar 23, 2005 10:38 am

:-° Just wondering if anyone has set a firmer timetable for his eventual role as the closer spot in Oakland. Does Octavio Dotel have reason enough to look over his shoulder for this season or will Street be steamrolling him over at the start of next year?....
thanks :-D

Rank Specuation

Postby Mr.3000 » Wed Mar 23, 2005 2:52 pm

The rumor going around Oakland is that the Cubs are very interested in taking a plunge on Dotel to fill their need for a closer. However, even IF that does happen, Street would still have to beat out Kiko Calero and Ricardo Rincon for the closer's job. Probably not very likely to happen this year. If you are taking a flyer in the late rounds, Marte probably has more upside this year as he is first in line to takeover the White Sox closer job if Takatsu stumbles.
