At least 1 out of 5 SPs is a lefty I believe, so it is more than you think. Just about every staff in baseball has at least 1 lefty. Some have more.

I didn't mean there were next to none about, just that a guy who just sits vs lefties sits a lot less than a guy in a regular platoon, and it's easier to tell when he'll sit and when he won't, so it's not entirely fair to describe it as a platoon situation.

Trot Nixon is at or near the replacement level for outfielders in a standard yahoo league. He may be a player you stash away on your bench to use in favorable situations, but nothing more than that at the moment imho.

Default yahoo leauges have 12 teams, 3 OFers + Util. Which puts replacement level for starters at or around the 44th best OFer. I have Nixon rated as the 31st best OFer... so I have to correct myself and say that he is above replacement level. I had to run the numbers to know for sure.

OK, I guess we aren't too far from one another then, I have him right around 25th (the replacement level tag made me think you were way down on him). The only real difference in our projections is that I think he should easily bat over .300 without having the 100 ABs against lefties bringing him down.

I wouldnt say platoon for nixon, however be aware that he is going to sit against lefties which I guess you can consider a platoon but he would still get over 475 at bats and will produce more in those 475 at bats than most in 600.

So all in all not a bad spot to draft him in the 25th round of a league with 5 OF spots and 2 util? I'll be very happy with those numbers...I'm sure he'll probably take Giambi's spot in my Util very soon.

I drafted him last night in round 20.
The way I view him sitting against some lefties is a bonus. He's had a few injuries in the past, maybe the extra days rest will keep him more refreshed.
