What's Trot Nixon's value?

Is he part of a platoon with Jay Payton? Can't really find much info on this.
Barry Bonds for US president.

I'm not sure, but I haven't heard his name mentioned in any sort of platoon scenario at this point. I like him to have a nice bounce back year this year if he can stay healthy. He should be a very nice value pick considering he will fall later than he probably should batting in that BOS lineup. ;-D

Straight from the heart of Bo-Town, Payton is nothing more than Gabe Kapler last year...a good 4th OF'er

Count on this from Trotter:

.290
27 HR
90 RBI
85 Rs
3-5 SBs

Definitely a good value pick

Thanks, I figured I would have found something if that were the case. But I have a guy in one league that insists Trot will be benched in favour of Payton when facing lefties.

Nixon is likely to be rested against Lefties far more often than not. IF he is healthy he is an OK Fnatasy fifth OF who might go 295 25/90. Nothing special but acceptable.

Payton will face lefties whenever the chance comes, although a) there aren't that many around and b) Nixon may still get the odd start covering CF/DH vs lefties still. He's still a good bench player, and it's not as if whether the opposing starter is lefthanded is hard to work out.

At least 1 out of 5 SPs is a lefty I believe, so it is more than you think. Just about every staff in baseball has at least 1 lefty. Some have more.

What tough luck for Trot. He will have to sit everytime the BoSox face RJ. :,-(

Anyone who drafted Nixon should do so expecting to platoon him in your fantasy lineup even if the BoSox didn't. He still has good value missing the occasional game.

Trot Nixon is at or near the replacement level for outfielders in a standard yahoo league. He may be a player you stash away on your bench to use in favorable situations, but nothing more than that at the moment imho.

What kind of numbers are you projecting him at. I have him pretty close to 2003 numbers and it would make him much better than replacement level.
