Both of them get lots of Ks, both of them have decent teams this year; both of them have shaky closer situations, which may hurt their win totals... do you guys think one is better than the other?

I agree about Clement being overrated. For all the praise he got last year, he only finished at like 12-11 with a 3.60 ERA. The only thing that made him special was his Ks.

Clements record isn't all his fault.
You said it right there....a 3.60 Era, and a 1.250 WHIP
That's solid...along with 200IP and 200K
He's by no means equal to Schmidt, but he's not a chump either.
So far Clement is 2-4 with a 3.95 ERA and a 1.131 WHIP
all that means is that he's gettin unlucky becuz the runners he actually allows on, all come around to score. (example: last nite, 9 baserunners in 6IP, which is high for him, 5ER, 4 via HR)
The ERA is a bit high, but Chicago has a better offense than that. You're telling me that scoring 4 to 5 runs a game is out of the question? Schmidt by far is better, but Clement is a mid level pitcher.
Why? They are pretty much a push. People complain Clements 3.60 era wasnt great, Schmidts was only 3.45. But Clement was the better pitcher when factoring in parks. Clements era+ was 112 to Schmidts 110. Clements whip was 1.20 to Schmidts 1.19. Check these splits. In a neutral park, Clement would be better.
Schmidt
home era 2.37
road era 5.02 terrible
Clement
home era 4.57
road era 2.55
