How many team league?

FIrst thing I would do is lose Lima and Valentine unless this is some really deep league.

Then I would lookt o trade one of your Cs as there is no point carry 2 Cs.

I'd trade one of those C's you have for some starters. Outside of Peavy (who, in my opinion, is still unproven) you have next to nothing for starters.

I also agree with everything that TheYanks04 said. How many teams?

12 teams league. 5 Bench spots. Not much on the wire. Would I be better off dumping a dual role player like Lackey for V. Zambrano and dumping Valentine for M. Batista or G. Floyd?

Defintely trade one of your catchers for a nother starter - Jake Peavy as your ace probably won't cut it (although I do think he'll have a great year).

Let's back up a minute. Agree SP looks week. But before you get to that, you need to have alternative plans in place for injuries. Right now you have:

Infante - just getting back, but can't make relay throw yet
K. Matsui - upper back problems - remember last year?
McPherson - not sure when he is due back
Cameron - just beginning to hit from wrist surgery
Peavey - tweaked a groin muscle

So, do some research on these guys to see where you stand. Then, trade a catcher for some front-line SP. Victor Z. is a no-no. I like both Lackey and Eaton better. Also, consider that your SB are coming from basically two spots, and one of them is Matsui. Better hope that Dunn does "go" more this year.

Summary - I don't think you did bad. Just check out your injury situations so you don't start in a hole and then do some tweaking. Season hasn't started yet - be patient!

Totally agree with Rajah above. Be patient and follow there springs.

Also jump on Batista cause I think he is closing for Toronto. Gets you some more saves or more trade bait later.
Good Job

I'd consider seeking out a team who needs a catcher and considering anything from them. I think a better IF or SP or closer would all be useful, and I'd just find the best available, rather than just looking SP. Your SP could be fine, I think. Some security would be nice at SP, but I think an upgrade in the IF might net you more points.

I was offered Schmidt for Pujols but countered with Pujols - Rodriguez/Teixeira - Schmidt b/c his catcher situation is pretty weak with him betting on Mauer's health.

I still have hope in Zambrano - but it is limited to just that.
