The White Sox still aren't planning to keep McCarthy, not unless they can find a way to get Jose Contreras on the disabled list with a hangnail. Some additional time in the minors would still be for the best. McCarthy may not have a whole lot left to learn, but he's not going to be such an outstanding pitcher as to give the White Sox real reason to rush him.
