Keeper league prospect I picked Jason Kubel. Out for the year with a bum knee. Not a big deal buut still
Near the end of a very competitive league, when I still needed a few starters, I picked Rocco Baldelli. Shows how much I follow TB. Out til ASB with a bum knee. Blah!
My draft wasn't too bad. Hideki Matsui at 19 was kind of surprising, as was Sosa at 42 (heh 10 team league, same person) but everyone else went about where they normally go.
Reminds me of the fantasy football draft we had last year though. None of us had ever played fantasy sports before, and someone took Carson Palmer #11 overall and Charles Rogers #14 because he thought you could only pick players that were actually in the NFL draft that year (It was an autodraft so he didn't get to rearrange his order after the draft started.) Luckily he was too lazy to do his whole ranking list and managed to finish 11th out of 12.

explain Michael Barrett as the 3rd overall pick then
I'm assuming that this was a "Catcher-only league"?
Still too early for him Maybe NL-only catcher league?
Last year, some dude drafted Pokey Reese in the 5th.
This year, for some unexplained reason Brian Giles lasted until the 21st round of a 12-team draft until I finally grabbed him. Then I changed my mind, before the next guy picked, and they allowed me to toss him back (I didn't need another OFer). Then he was still around in the 22nd when I picked again, so I said "this is nuts" and grabbed him. It was just weird! Sure enough, I've been fielding trade offers for Giles for a week now.
I am the Master. Don't question the Master. Just do what he says and be proud.
i took tejada first overall in one of my leagues... now... before you laugh -- this is a hold-em league. no pickups...
Give a man a fish and he'll eat for a day, teach a man to fish and he'll drown because you forgot to teach him to swim.

These are pretty good but I think I may have a winner...
*drumroll*
Last year, we had a guy who took...Placido Polanco...in the second round!! This is a guy who either won or was second the year before w/ a nice team so we ASSuMEd that he knew what he was doing but we were floored, started talking smack almost immediately which continued right through until this year's draft ['side bets on when he's taking Polanco this year?'] when he kept saying 'he's really pretty good, and plays those two spots, I'm not gonna take him b/c you guys will give me so much &*^% but he's not a bad player'.
