Back in 1996 a guy took Robin Ventura with the 3rd overall pick. 8-o

The laughter subsided about 20 minutes later.

He ended up having a decent line that year but still not worth #3 overall.

Ok I have the worst bad pick story.
We recently expanded our league to 12 members from 10. I lobbied hard against having this one guy joining. I've been quoted in saying that I would never be in a league that he is in. I was in a hockey league once with him and he is the definition of the word clueless. I lost out and all his buddies wanted him in. Anyway, he shows up to our live draft with about 50 names scribbled on a piece of paper. So anyway in the 6th round he picks Rich Aurilla. :-o

Then he follows that up with a 7th round selection of Mike Lamb.
I will be relentless in my scorning of this guy all year on the message board. I want him to cry! Thanks for the donation...loser!

Last year in one of my leagues some guy picked Aubrey Huff #4 overall, because he knew that if he didn't grab him there, somebody else would take him before his next pick. What a moron. I got Thome 53rd overall, and RJ 68th overall. And this guy takes Huff 4th overall.

Anyway, I think the Giambi grab was OK; others were definitely higher than I'd go.

Worst I've been involved in was a guy in my football league who reminds me of Fireball's hockey buddy ... he took Plaxico in the first round — his ROOKIE year. Although even that was better than the same guy's pick of Dallas K Richie Cunningham in the first round a couple years earlier.

I took over a baseball team a few years ago. The team wasn't very good (we have 8 keepers). Apparently,the guy that had the team before me had no clue.

I was told about how he took Carlos Feebles with his first pick two years before I took over.

last year, a manager in my league dropped johan santana sometime in may. i had a low waiver claim in and still was able to get hin. not a draft pick ... but still worth mentioning!!
