For a guy that's pitched over 6 seasons in the majors, that thought process is just completely wrong.

Javy Lopez is hitting .308 against him
Miguel Tejada is hitting .333 against him
Sammy Sosa has seen plenty of him and had 16 AB's against him when Clement was with SD and Florida

Aubrey Huff is hitting .667 and Danny Bautista .429 against Clement.

Sheffield has seen more of Clement than most guys who play in the NL. Tony Womack has had 36 career AB's with a .333 BA.

A few guys in other AL divisions who have seen plenty of Clement include, Maggs .462, I-Rod.357, Dimitri Young.375, Podsednik.353.

So you're taking small sample sizes from excellent to good hitters to suggest that Clement moving to a new league does not mean that there will be hitters who haven't seen him before? What about the Cantus and Alex Rios of the world?
