Matt Clement?

Postby Boogster26 » Sun Mar 20, 2005 12:55 pm

What do people think of Matt Clement this year?

He deteriorated as the season progressed last year. But that's what seems to happen to Cubby pitchers.

Do you think he'll pull it back together with Boston? ;-D :-t

Decent but not tremendous starter. He has a 3.7 or so ERA in the NL, so expect it to jump to 4+ in the AL.

I think he's going to be a big dissappointment in Fenway.

Do you think he'll win more than 10 games? :-D

How many games do you think he'll lose? :-o

He will do decently. His K/IP will be about 1.0, which is very impressive. I think he will win around 14, with an ERA pushing 4.0. A decent back end of the rotation guy on a fantasy staff, but no should be no better than a number #3 guy in most leagues.

I would expect Clement to fill in nicely to a D. Lowe type season. He will find his groove and probably post between 12-15 wins. He will not be overworked as he was in Chicago.

I don't like him at all.

There is no doubting his stuff but he's always lacked control. Moving to the AL will be especially tough on him. I'm expecting a few more wins than last year but an ugly ERA and WHIP.

I think he'll win 14-16, ERA of 4.2-4.0, WHIP of 1.25, 190k's. Pretty much an average pitcher.

I have a strong gut feeling Clement will thrive in the pressure of Boston and a change in scenery and hitters who have never seen him. Not to mention improved control. I see 16 wins, 215 Ks, 3.50 ERA, 1.15 WHIP.

I know I'm going against the grain, but only time will tell if my gut feeling is right.
