OK, so everyone knows that with OBP you have to weight each player's influence on your stats by a plate appearance factor.
Same goes with SLG except its an AB factor.
When using the standard deviation method of ranking players, should I be adding a 0.5 multiple of the OBA and SLG stdev values to get my OPS value or should it be .55/.45 or .6/.4 in favor of OBA b/c players have more plate appearances than at-bats?
i spent 6 hours in CFA classes today and my brain is fried. someone plase think for me
thanks

I'm not sure, but couldn't you just do them seperately, then add them together after making the adjustments?

if i hear you right, that would be the same as giving the 50/50 weight. i'm not talking about the raw number (like .367) but rather the std dev value (like 1.65 or -0.82)
