When will piazza typically get drafted?

I hope after 10, but it seems peeps are taking him at 8.

It varies. Don't reach on him before the 10th in a 12 team, but if you are willing to gamble you can get him later than that as well. I got him in the 14th round of a 14 team league, and even though I had Pudge, since it was a deep league he's good insurance and right now he's holding down the fort at CI.

If you want to make sure you get him, select him around the 10th or 11th. If you are willing to wait, and get a pontential steal on him, target him around the 12th-14th rounds. He won't be there any later, that's for sure. Bottom line, he's not worth the 8th round, but he certainly can be with the 12th.

I have never understood why people draft 2 Cs when they do not have to. Piazza ia a very poor CI option based on ABs and injury proneness. And Cs are usually near impossile to trade in a 1 C roster league as most owners have a serviceable one.

When there are 14 teams, with deep rosters (our draft was 400 player deep) Piazza at CI is a better option than what the majority of the league has at CI. When you have CI/MI/4 OF spots, etc. everyone is going to get taken. Piazza in the 14th round of a 14 team draft is not a bad move.

But I suspect D. Young was around near that pick. Possibly Bagwell. Probably Casey Blake. I definitely rather have Da Meat Hook. I probably rather have both Bagwell and Blake at my CI over Piazza at this point but that is me. Would probably depend to a degree on who my C was.
