Brandon Lyon sleeper closer...

Postby Purple Haze » Sat Mar 19, 2005 4:02 am

If you have an extra roster spot, or can afford the $1... Brandon Lyon could end up closing for the DBacks at some point this season.. Here is what Bob Melvin had to say:

Latest News Mar. 18, 2005 - 9:30 am et

Manager Bob Melvin admits he's thought about what Brandon Lyon would look like as a closer.
It's something to keep in mind on draft day, because Greg Aquino is hardly a sure thing in front of him. Lyon has used all four of his pitches well this spring while throwing five perfect innings.

Yahoo usually updates after teams make their final rosters.

I agree that Lyon should be the closer in waiting...Valverde is horrible and should not be touched. He has been lit up like a Christmas treee.

Lyons can't be that good. People on here were telling me Jesus Colome will be better this season as a middle reliver for fantasy purposes (holds etc)

lyon doesn't deserve a roster spot in your team. you'd better leave him on the free agency and only...only if valverde or aquino goes down i would maybe consider picking up lyon. there many others who i'd rather have if i want to take a sleeper closer. he's just not good.
