Help out a FBL newbie...

Postby fatnub2339 » Fri Mar 18, 2005 8:48 pm

This is my first year of playing fbl, so bear with me here. I heard from many ppl that having a great reliever/closer is the most important thing for any team. I have a hard time believing this. Is this true? If so, how high should I look to draft a quality closer? And how many closers/relievers should i have on my roster? Thanks in advance

It's not true. There should be zero closers drafted in the first round. Many good fantasy players don't even think about drafting a closer until round 7 or even later.

Typically, you should look to have at least 2 closers on your team by the end of the draft.

Absolutely untrue. There are tons of good closers avaialbe in the middle rounds and unless rivera or gagne is still floating around round 4, then I wouldnt worry about it in the first rounds. You obviously need one, but concentrate on taking the best player availbe in the first 5 rounds, if not the first 7, then fill in your team

In H2H you don't even really need a closer let alone a top one. In roto gettin a second teir one is always recommended though ;-D
