Ok... i'm not really sure how many ways to say this, but... BELTRAN IS OVERRATED. He's hit 300 twice in his career, but once was when he'd only played 140 games. he's moving to a new team, from a small market, i.e. kansas city/houston, to a very large market in N.Y. where he'll have to contend with the N.Y. media when his average dips. he's moving from nice hitting parks to a pitcher's park, and if that's not enough for you... every hitter who's switched to the mets via free agency has experienced a downward spiral... e.g. bonilla, mo vaughn, floyd (except for piazza who's experiencing a belated downward spiral). Plus, as if that weren't enough, you have a shortstop in tejada who's miles above everyone else at his position. that's my story and i'm sticking to it.
